Going In Style

Going In Style – After getting screwed out of their retirement pension and screwed by their mortgage banker which accepts no fiscal responsibility, three old friends decide to rob the bank and get what they deserve, but not a penny more. Willie (Morgan Freeman), Joe (Michael Caine), and Albert (Alan Arkin) figure they have nothing to lose and if they’re going down, they’re going down together.
Along with Ann Margret and Christopher Lloyd, these legendary actors pull off a pretty funny movie. Some of it is silly, some hilarious. Their preparations for the big job involve stealing a chicken from a grocery store.
It has some sweetness about friends and family, and typical stuff about being old. Best line is “It’s a culture’s duty to take care of its elderly.” Loved Matt Dillon as the not-nearly-as- cool- and- clever -as -he- thinks- he- is detective. A movie made for gray-hairs.
Soundtrack from rap to Sam Cooke to Ray Charles and other greats.
