Florence Foster Jenkins

Florence Foster Jenkins – Based on true events, unsuccessful actor St. Clair Bayfield (Hugh Grant) and former child pianist prodigy Florence Foster (Meryl Streep) make an odd pair. She has a huge ego and an overabundance of confidence in her talents as an opera singer yet has no qualms about pointing out his shortcomings as an actor. He truly loves her and supports her fully in her dreams. Still he has a separate home with a beautiful girlfriend (Rebecca Ferguson).

Cosme McMoon (Simon Helberg from Big Bang Theory) is hired as the pianist to accompany Florence on her quest to sing at Carnegie Hall. His facial expressions are priceless. He struggles to stay composed when he realizes her voice leaves more than a little bit to be desired. Agnes Stark (Nina Arianda) is the slightly trashy wife of one of Florence’s rich friends. She literally rolls on the floor laughing the first time she hears Florence sings.

It’s an inspiring story. You can forgive Florence her delusions because she has so much passion for music. We’re supposed to dance like no one’s watching. Florence sings like everyone’s listening to and loving her.
