The Meddler

The Meddler – Widowed for a year, Marnie Minervini (Susan Sarandon) has quite enough money to make widowhood enjoyable. But she needs something more to keep her occupied and decides to fully share in her daughter Lori‘s (Rose Byrne) life. Lori is not totally on board with that decision. Loaded with a bunch of “shoulds” and bagels, Marnie takes the hint and starts helping Lori’s friends as well as the guy (Jerrod Carmichael) who sold her an iPhone. She really does mean well and they all seem to appreciate her.

It’s an enjoyable movie, gets a little dreggy especially during the gay wedding, and will appeal to a more mature crowd. J.K. Simmons as Zipper has a bit of a Sam Elliott thing going on. Harry Hamlin and Laura San Giacomo have bit roles.
