Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot – Kim Baker (Tina Fey) is a news producer who gets a chance to go to Afghanistan as a correspondent. At first, it’s like she’s being portrayed as a careless bimbo and it feels kind of unbelievable. But then it starts to grow.

Though there’s plenty of college-fraternity drinking, humping, bumping, and other ‘ing activities, Kim soon finds it’s all about getting the biggest story and that it’s a dog eat dog world. She begins to become good at it and learns to play with the big dogs. Then she starts to get addicted to the whole war-time experience.

It’s better than I expected it to be. Loved when she had to put on the whole covered up outfit of Afghan women and quipped “It’s so pretty, I don’t even want to vote.” There are a lot of really good characters: Margot Robbie as Tanya; Billy Bob Thornton as General Hollanek; Alfred Molina as Sonny; Nicholas Braun as Tall Brian; Martin Freeman as Iain. My favorite was her security driver Fahim (Christopher Abbott) and her relationship with him.
