Hail, Caesar

Hail, Caesar – Oh, my, this is a bad movie and I had such high hopes for it. Thought it was going to be a smart, funny spoof/parody of 1940s-1950s movies from the Coen Brothers. It isn’t.

Laughs are few and far between. The outstanding cast of Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill and Scarlett Johansson is not enough to make up for this pitiful story. The only redeeming feature is Channing Tatum. He tap dances a la Gene Kelly. He sings. And then there’s the little matter of the way he looks. Honorary mention goes to Alden Ehrenreich as cowboy “Hobie” and Heather Goldenhersh as a secretary.

But save your money. Take a nap or make out a grocery list instead of going to see this move.
