Child 44 – 1953 Ukraine, Stalin era. Leo Domidov (Tom Hardy) is MGB, state security, and realizes a child killer is out there somewhere. No one wants to admit it because it would mean this monster was created by government leaders. When Leo won’t denounce his wife Raisa (Noomi Rapace) as a traitor, she begins to be less fearful of him. Together they go on the hunt for the killer.

There are some horrible people here, forcing people to rat out friends and neighbors in order to save their own families. They also hate homosexuals. A lot of characters to keep track of and a lot of dots to connect. Raisa is one tough lady. I liked her. Overall, it’s a pretty dark movie. It does show that some try to make amends
