The Age of Adaline

The Age of Adaline – If you’re looking for a soft, gentle romantic movie with none of the Nicholas Sparks’ sap, this is it. Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively) is in an accident and by some scientific rearrangement of molecules or fairy dust, she gets to stay 29 years old forever. Her daughter (Flemming) grows into Ellen Burstyn. After decades of moving every few years and changing her identity, Adaline finally meets a man Ellis Jones (Michiel Huisman) who is worth a few gray hairs.
Ms. Lively is kind of like a frozen robot throughout most of the movie but Mr. Huisman makes up for it with buckets of appeal. Harrison Ford is the father of Ellis and a former lover of Adaline’s. No one seemed to be bothered that she had slept with father and son. The scenery is gorgeous. Beautiful shots of San Francisco and the Golden Gate bridge. By the way, they said whatever caused her to not age will be invented in 2035. Something to look forward to.
