Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars – Once a teenage private investigator – it was a TV show – Veronica Mars is now ready for her first big girl lawyer job in New York when she finds out another of her Neptune, CA, high school friends has been murdered. Veronica’s first love, Logan (Jason Dohring), is implicated in the murder of pop star Bonnie Deville/Carrie. Veronica, Logan, and besties Wallace (Percy Daggs III) and “Mac” (Tina Majorino) attend their 10th reunion looking for clues to discover the real murderer.

There are so many characters here – Dick (Ryan Hansen) whose name is always pronounced so that you just know his last name is “Head”; Chris Lowell (remember Dell in Grey’s Anatomy) is Piz, Veronica’s present boyfriend; Enrico Colantoni is Keith Mars who lives in a really cool Arts & Crafts style house; Sheriff Don Lamb (Jerry O’Connell); and Gia (Krysten Ritter) is all that.

Some very smart, funny one-liners. Occasionally, it seems as though some are just too cool. One line from Brokeback Mountain was hilarious. There’s a little bit Nancy Drew, a little bit Scooby Doo. A little melodramatic, a little tongue-in-cheek. Overall, entertaining even with quite a few murders. And you leave feeling good – although I really didn’t like Logan – I kept hoping he was the killer.
