The Adjustment Bureau

From the trailers, I thought this was going to be an action movie. It isn’t or at least not very much unless you consider running from government-like guys in dark suits and magical hats with no guns “action.”
Matt Damon plays David Norris, a popular Congressman wanting to be a popular Senator but thanks to a college-days prank he’s soon practicing his concession speech in the men’s room at the Waldorf. That’s where he meets Emily Blunt, Elise something. Her being in the men’s room gives you an idea of Elise’s fun-loving, free-spirited side.
Next thing you know there are these official looking suits from the 50s trying to stop their getting to know each other. Why? Because they are in charge of The Plan from The Chairman and if you go off course from The Plan, The Chairman is going to be miffed enough to lobotomize you. In the end it does come around to admitting free will is out there for those smart enough to latch on to it. Some may find this to be a nice little romance. I thought it was a bit of a snore. Matt Damon is cuter than ever in it. He may grow into his Sexiest Man Alive title soon.
That guy from Mad Men – you know, the one in the luxury car commercial – is one of the middle managers and wears the same clothes he wears on tv.
