Life As We Know It

If you haven’t been in lockdown, you’ve probably seen at least some of the trailers which tell most of the story. Young couple dies, leaving custody of their baby girl to his and her best friends. Best friends (Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamnel) know they are the kid’s godparents so it’s surprising that it’s such a surprise to them when they find out they inherit the baby along with a killer house. Of course, they don’t like each other at the beginning but in the end, well, you know. Played by triplets, the little girl is an extremely appealing thing. And Josh Lucas with the slightly husky Joe Cocker-like voice is a boyfriend who generously steps aside when he recognizes true love.
Surprisingly, it has more substance than you’d expect. Of course, Heigl is just as gorgeous as can be and Duhamel has all the neighbors wanting to do him, no matter their gender. The movie relies a little too heavily on “poo” jokes but it really is not too awfully bad.
