This is the highly praised Sundance film, and deservedly so. Great direction and photography, set in the Ozarks. The actors had to have been selected for their looks as much or more than for their acting ability and it was definitely the right move. In order to keep the family home with her younger brother and sister intact, a 17 year-old girl sets out to find her father who skipped bail on his “cooking crank” charge (that means he had a meth lab in case you’re not up on the latest drug lingo). No one wants her to succeed and don’t mind killing to stop her.
